About Picture

Hello World! My name is Benya Chongolnee

I grew up in Bangkok, Thailand then moved to the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois when I was 11. The new life in a new country scared me. Ever since then, I embraced whatever scares me the most because it could turn into something beautiful and impactful.
My passion for technology stemmed from wanting to make an impact at a young age. I needed to learn about "all things data" in order to understand more about the world and how I can positively make an impact on it. Data science, analytics, statistics, SQL and so on. Those were my interests at Purdue University where I earned my bachelors in Information Technology with minors in Statistics, Communications, and Organization Leadership Supervision. During the 4 years I was there, I was able to make impacts within the university through various different extracurricular activities and leadership positions that I was a part of.

After graduation, I did what scared me the most: moved away from my home for 11 years in Chicago to start a new beginning as a Sales Engineer in San Francisco. My role at Splunk allows me to showcase my strong technical and analytics skills, proven communication ability, and a passion for technology while making a positive impact on customers.

When I am not working, I still thrive to embrace whatever scares me the most by traveling to new cities and always seeking discomfort. I love exploring new places and maybe that's why it is on my bucket list to visit all seven continents (3 more to go!). When I am not working or exploring, I try to workout, but if I am not doing that, I am probably eating. I also enjoy painting, hanging out at the beach, and watching cheesy, Hallmark movies.
